A lovely early 1900s diamond and sapphire trilogy ring. The centre of the ring holds a chunky old mined cut diamond, estimated at approximately half a carat in weight. The diamond is beautiful quality with an almost fancy light yellow body colour and high clarity grade, its fiery hand cut facets in excellent condition. Hand cut in the late 1800s the diamond is slightly oval in shape, meaning that its set with a very small gap either side where the mount lends itself to a more round stone; securely set, this just adds to the character of this antique piece.
Either side of the diamond are two lovely onyx stones. The onyx have been cut in desirable French mixed cuts with a lovely square outline that lends itself to the art deco period. The onyx are in excellent overall condition.
The ring is modelled in yellow gold, with the gemstone collets topped with white gold. The white gold has tarnished with time and could use a professional polish, if you would like this please leave us a note at checkout and we can happily arrange this free of charge.
