A truly fabulous, antique, chunky old mined cut flower cluster, c.1850-1870. The photos of these diamonds do not do them justice at all. The centre diamond is a sizable 4.6mm in diameter, making it approximately 0.42ct of chunky old mined cut goodness, with a high crown and open culet, set in a closed back claw setting. The central diamond is foil backed which gives it a lovely silver sheen as it is turned in the sun light, this form of setting was typical of the Georgian to early Victorian era and is best when worn in candlelight, as it would have been when it was created. The claw setting around the centre stone makes the diamond look like a real pistil of a flower whilst securely holding it in place.
 
Overall, the central diamond is in beautiful condition, although there is one chip to the kite facet that must be noted, this can only be seen under magnification. 
 
Surrounding the central 0.42ct diamond are a further approximate 0.35ct of old mined cut diamonds; each chunky round stone set into its own collet, making up the ‘petals’ of the flower with gaps in-between. The diamonds are all offered in excellent condition. 
 
Possibly an old stick pin conversion, the head of the ring is silver, common in Georgian and Victorian pieces, as silver was much easier to manipulate in order to set stones; however the back of the ring and the shank are a glorious buttery 18ct yellow gold. 
 
Whilst the macro photography we have used clearly shows up some natural carbon inclusions within the stones, these are not visible with the naked eye, please see the photos of this wonderful piece on in order to see how they truly will look. Bright, sparkly and white.
