A bi-colour sapphire solitaire ring in high carat yellow gold. The centre stone is a large natural sapphire of approximately 1.50ct, faceted in a desirable mixed cushion cut that perfectly accents its two-toned colour. One side of the sapphire is a deep teal blue, whilst the other is a very pale yellow, the two colours seemingly melting into one another to give the stone an almost green tone as you look down through the table. The stone is bright and playful with every colour of the stormy sea visible as it is turned in the light, the photos do not do this justice at all.
The sapphire is held in a simple multi claw setting that hugs the rectangular silhouette of the stone perfectly. The tips of two of these claws have worn but the stone remains secure, and this doesn’t detract from the piece in the slightest. Aside from this and a few nibbles to the table facets of the sapphire, the ring is in excellent condition. The ring is finished with a timeless yellow gold shank with a soft knife edge profile.
