• A lovely antique buckle ring from 1893, modelled in 9ct yellow gold. Buckles were commonplace in Victorian jewellery, symbolising love, and fidelity as well as strength and devotion. Whilst buckles are common, double buckles are less so, and it possibly symbolises the unity of two individuals, either as a friendship ring or a betrothal ring. This piece is offered in lovely antique condition, the only wear being some discolouration near the faded hallmarks and evidence of an old resize, where it appears the piece may have been re-shanked.
