A striking antique sapphire and diamond halo ring. Modelled in 18ct white gold the outside of the shank bares French hallmarks, although the workmanship and design of the piece alone is enough to tell you it is French.

The centre stone is a large natural sapphire in a deep inky blue, almost black, (it appears lighter in photos) with natural straight colour zoning running across its surface. Upon observation we can see no indication of heat treatment present, but this is not independently certified; although we can arrange for an independent gemmologists report if requested. The sapphire has a sizable spread of 14mm x 9.5mm and is estimated at an impressive 3.50ct. Offered in good overall condition there are only a few small nibbles to the facets present.

Surrounding the sapphire is a halo of small rose cut diamonds, each stone perfectly set into a thin halo of white gold that frames the centre stone. Finished with a hand pierced gallery and a plain white gold shank. There is a deep scratch to one side of the shank leading to the hallmark, which unfortunately wouldn't polish out but isn't noticable when you see the beautiful gemstones on your hand. This is priced to sell and a true collectors piece.
