An impressive antique 18ct gold ring set with a natural star sapphire surrounded by a halo of sparkling antique diamonds. The centre stone is a gorgeous cornflower blue sapphire, cut en-cabochon to reveal a natural star that dances across its surface in direct light. The sizable gemstone is estimated at 4.30ct with a high domed crown that perfectly complements the ring. There is a deep divot to the back of the stone, which is a remain of the natural sapphire crystal opposed to damage, but this does not affect the beauty of the ring, merely increases the gemmological interest.
The sapphire is accented by approximately 0.30ct of antique diamonds in a contrasting white gold halo and the ring is finished with a timeless yellow gold band.
