A truly unique green zircon ring from c.1900. The centre stone is a beautiful olive green zircon in a unusual mixed cut. The natural gemstone is almost octagonal cut and set in a distinct hand made collet with claw detailing for extra security. The zircon was originally set close backed but at some point a small hole has been drilled to the reverse of the ring, likely to allow the wearer to clean it. This hole actually isn’t noticeable through the gemstone when the ring is worn but can clearly be seen from the back; just a beautiful little glimpse into the ring’s history.
The zircon is framed by a wide shank that has been beautifully detailed with swirled gold that works around your finger like a climbing vine. A beautiful and unique piece that would look fantastic on men or women.
