This piece had us intrigued as soon as we saw it. A large period glass locket from c.1850-1880. The large oval locket was once intricately detailed with blue, white and gold enamel, to make up an ornate frame for your treasured photo. Sadly, this enamel has somewhat been lost to time, but the remains tell a beautiful story of the piece. Crafted from base metal the pendant is hinged at the top, which allows it to open up and hold your keepsakes. The locket opens and closes well, although the closure is a little soft it shouldn’t fall open when worn. A beautiful and unusual antique piece.
