One of the most exceptional antique chains we have had the pleasure of dealing with. C.1850, this chunky 15ct gold chain has a fancy link which measures 4mm in width and sits at a comfortable 15.5”, just 0.5” less than a standard short, which makes it perfect for layering. Whilst the link of this chain is exceptional it is the clasp that is the star of the show. A stunning box snap clasp with a beautiful hexagonal podium that is faceted and engraved on all sides. Set in the centre of the clasp is a, large, deep red garnet cabochon, which glows as the necklace is turned in the light and in wonderful antique condition.
 
The beauty of this chain has to be its versatility. You could either wear it plain, with the clasp at the back of your neck, with the clasp to the front, acting as a pendant, or with the addition of charms and pendants slid onto the sumptuous chain.
 
A beautiful and unique chain that is a true investment piece. The only wear to note is some slight tarnishing to the inside of the box clasp, with the rest of the chain being in exceptional condition. The clasp opens and closes securely with a satisfying click.
