A lovely antique goldstone brooch from the late 1800s. The egg shaped brooch is set with a glittering cabochon of goldstone; an antique man-made stone that consists of fine copper particles to make up a beautiful shimmering gem, which was very popular in the Victorian era. The goldstone has been set in a fine bezel and finished with a flat polished back and a simple pin. Please note there is historic lead work around the hinge but this does not detract from the beauty of this piece.
