A fine quality opal and diamond ring from c.1920-1940. The centre stone is a vibrant natural opal, which looks like a rare black opal when worn, with deep greens, blues and reds dancing across its surface. The opal is surrounded by a fine double halo of glittering transitional cut diamonds, so beautifully cut you would be excused for mistaking them for round brilliants but look close and you can see their darling open culets. The setting of the halo gives the ring a feminine scalloped edge that we just love as a design feature. Finished with a fine pierced design to the underside of the ring and a fine yellow gold shank.
