A truly exceptional and rare Victorian era ring. This stunning ring is a true one of a kind, modelled in 15ct yellow gold it is set with the most striking autumnal orangey-golden-brown topaz to the centre. The topaz is an old cushion cut, whose facets act like a hall of mirrors, perfectly reflecting and refracting the colours of the topaz so it appears almost like crushed copper foil on your hand. The topaz is in good overall condition, however you can see some surface wear and nibbles to the facets under magnification.
Although the centre stone was enough to make us fall in love there is even more to make you completely head over heels for this wonderful antique. Surrounding the central bezel set gemstone is a halo of finely applied white enamel, complete with tiny dots of gold scattered across its surface. The enamel is in pristine condition, rare to find in a piece of this antiquity.
Surrounding the enamel is then a further halo, this one of small seed pearls, each stone carefully enclosed with a demi bezel, giving the ring a scalloped edge. On the whole the pearls are in good condition however one pearl has significant nacre loss, we may be able to replace this but it may not match absolutely to the others.
Overall this is an exceptional ring that will be sure to become a prised piece in your collection.
