A truly breath-taking art deco cocktail ring. Modelled in 5.5g of 18ct gold and topped with platinum this fine ring has a striking presence. To the centre is a large cushion cut paste in the perfect aquamarine colour. It is possible that this piece once held a genuine aquamarine but at some point this has been swapped for a paste replacement, but we won’t tell if you wont…The only notable wear to the centre stone are some superficial nibbles to the facet edges visible under magnification.
Surrounding the centre stone is a pave set halo of natural diamonds in a beautiful deco setting. The diamonds are bright and lively and in good overall condition, however it appears that two or three have been swapped for paste stones when tested. These replacement stones are well matched and you would never be able to tell unless you were a trained gemmologist. The result is a fabulous original ring that looks a million bucks but is offered at a fraction of the price, a rare find!
