A striking art deco era emerald and diamond cross ring. The beautiful ring is set with two good sized old European cut diamonds and three vibrant green stones. Two of the green gems are emeralds, truly exquisite in quality they have that perfect light bottle green colour and seem to glow from within as they are turned in the light. Emeralds are renowned for their inclusions, so much so that they have their own term, the ‘jardin’ of the emerald, owing to their fern like appearance; however, these stones are beautifully clean within, with only the finest of feather like inclusions running through them. The third green stone is more than likely a replacement for either an emerald that was damaged or lost to history. We believe the the replacement green stone to be a garnet but would need to be un-set in order to run conclusive tests and we believe this could damge the ring. 
 
The unique cross design of the ring is one we are immediately drawn to: X marks the spot after all. Likely commissioned for a sentimental reason we love this as a roman numeral, perfect if you are celebrating anything to do with the number 10 in your life. Although you certainly don’t need a reason to fall in love with this piece. Offered in excellent overall condition.
