A truly exceptional belle epoque toi et moi ring. The beautiful ring is set with two pear cut stones placed diagonally from one another in classic eight claw settings.
 
To one side there is an original old cut pear diamond of approximately 0.55ct with a traditional open culet and chunky faceting that you would expect from a true antique stone. The diamond is warmer in colour, graded a K or L with a hint of yellow to its body colour, something often seen in antique diamonds mined from Africa, but faces up beautifully with lots of fire. Graded SI2 the diamond has a few small inclusions which can be seen under magnification but none on the table and none that are at all visible with the naked eye. The stone is free from chips or damage and offered in excellent condition. 
 
The emerald is also an antique stone with a collection colour to it. Slightly larger than the diamond in measurements but a perfect mismatched pair. The emerald is naturally included, which is common to see in emeralds and doesn’t affect the price of the stone massively, as it is the colour they are prized for. Overall the emerald is in good antique condition, however one inclusion is surface reaching and a small blemish can be seen to the table of the stone under magnification.
 
The two stones are each set in eight claw settings handmade bespoke for them. The diamond has a platinum collet whilst the emerald is set in 18ct yellow gold, a lovely design touch that keeps the stones’ individuality. Holding the two gemstones together are two swirling arms of the shank, each set with an array of small rose cut diamonds in platinum topped mounts, which then lead to an 18ct yellow gold shank.
