A lovely, rare, guilloche enamel piece in 9ct gold. This beautiful pendant features a high domed front detailed with stunning royal blue enamelling set with a central pearl in a star shaped gold setting. The enamel is on the whole in beautiful condition, however there is some small area of damge towards the base. To the bale there is the addition of a small flower detail that perfectly completes the front of this special piece. The unique bale is made up of two parts that have been soldered together and this join has split ever so slightly, but this is secure and common with pieces of this age.  
 
To the reverse the pendant has a secret: a locket back. Framed with a rim of twisted gold the locket back holds a matrix of very finely woven hair, likely that of the wearer’s lover or a deceased family member. The hairwork is dark and so fine that you can’t notice it unless you inspect it closely, a perfect piece of history.
