An antique crossover ring c.1920. The centre of the ring holds a deep teal sapphire in a desirable carre cut, whose silhouette is enhanced by the six claws that hold it in place. With magnification some light surface wear to the sapphire can be seen, along with some small nibbles to the girdle, however these are largely superficial.
The square sapphire is flanked by two illusion set diamonds. Each collection quality, old cut, diamond is set in a platinum collet that makes it appear much larger than their c.0.04ct weight, perfectly balancing the size and shape of the centre stone.
The ring is finished with a rich 18ct gold shank that perfectly archs around the stones, adding a beautiful design feature to this entrancing antique piece.
