A beautiful antique bangle in hollow 9ct gold. This chunky piece is set with a large amethyst of approximately 5.50ct in a simple bezel setting that perfectly hugs the emerald cut outline of the stone. The amethyst is a deep purple with lovely crisp facets that really show off its regal colour. 
 
The amethyst is held on a chunky hinged bangle in hollow gold. Although the piece weighs a substantial 9.2g, this is much lighter than if it were solid gold and would have been made in this way in order to save on cost. Although hollow this is a robust piece, proven by it being in such lovely condition over 100 years after it was created. Wear to note are some light dents to the rear of the bangle and tarnishing to the metal, which we have chosen to leave currently as the gold has such a beautiful, rich, patina, but could happily be polished away.
 
The bangle opens and closes with a nice click and has the added security of a safety chain so your new bracelet has no risk of falling off.
