This timeless piece holds nearly three quarters of a carat of chunky old mined cut diamonds, spaced by two deep cornflower blue sapphires in desirable mixed cushion cuts. One sapphire has slightly sunken in its setting, but this is not obvious to the un-trained eye and the gemstone remains secure. The gemstones are in good overall condition despite some surface wear; however, the centre stone does have a surface reaching feather inclusion to note. Despite the lower clarity grade of the diamonds, they remain entirely eye clean and packed full of fire thanks to their deep pavilions and masterfully cut facets. Fully hallmarked for 1887 the ring is almost an impressive one hundred and forty years old and we can’t wait to see who adds to its story next.
