An unusual antique sapphire and diamond ring in 18ct gold. Thought to be of French provenance the ring has been exquisitely made with two ‘targets’ of sapphire and diamond set next to one another. This target ring design was one that rose to popularity in Europe during the early 1900s and remains popular amongst collectors today; we have been lucky enough to sell a number of target rings in the past, but never have we seen a double one!
Each target houses an old mined cut diamond to the centre, surrounded by a halo of calibre cut blue sapphires, which form a continuous gemstone boarder around the diamond. There are a few small nicks to the sapphires when viewed with magnification but otherwise the ring is offered in excellent condition.
