This uniquely shaped ring, c.1900, houses a central, natural, blue sapphire in a classic eight claw setting (one replacement) surrounded by a glittering plaque of rose cut diamonds. The sapphire is a deep blue that changes to a bright royal blue when it catches the light, with beautiful natural growth patterns that can be seen under a loupe and a wonderful, bright, lustre. Surrounding the centre stone the plethora of rose cut diamonds perfectly highlight the moval shape of the ring, each stone individually hand set into 18ct white gold, giving the impression of a cobblestone pavement, paved with diamonds. The diamonds are well matched and in overall good condition, however there are a few small knicks consistent with the age of this antique piece.
The ring has a beautiful presence with a large 22.5mm length, making it the perfect cocktail ring; however, it is designed to sit low to the finger so you run no risk of it getting in your way or becoming cumbersome. The perfect day to night ring, or even a beautiful engagement ring.
