A beautiful early 1900s crossover ring in contrasting 18ct yellow and white gold. The centre holds a good-sized cultured pearl, which has been set traditionally by being pierced and held in a cupped yellow gold collet. The pearl shows some nacre loss to the sides but is in excellent condition overall.
Set either side of the pearl are two deep bottle green emeralds. The natural gemstones have a beautiful vibrancy to their hand cut facets, accented by the yellow gold bezel settings that surround them. The emeralds are in good condition for their age but do have some surface reaching inclusions across the table and one emerald has a chip to the girdle near the bezel.
The gemstones are framed by geometric swirls of white gold, studded with rose cut diamonds that seem to melt into the precious metal. Much like the pearl and emerald the rose cut diamonds have some small nibbles visible with a loupe but these do nothing to affect their beauty or durability.
The ring is finished with a fine double band that adds a beautiful design feature to this already fascinating piece.
