  • An original art deco era ring set with one of the most exceptional emeralds we have had the pleasure of selling. The emerald is a gorgeous mid-bottle green that seems to glow from within, as all exceptional emeralds should. Having inspected this exquisite ring under the microscope we believe the inclusions confirm that it is a Columbian emerald. Columbian emeralds are the most prized in the world as they are usually exceptional in colour due to the higher levels of chromium, the colouring agent in the gemstone’s chemical structure. Usually emeralds are cut in an emerald cut, where the corners are cut so as to protect the somewhat brittle stone from breaking, however here the lapidarist has chosen to leave the corners in a carre cut. However, the stone is set with a protective twelve claw setting, which has meant that there are no chips or cracks to the corners, or any other part, of the emerald.

Although there is no doubt that the emerald is the star of the show this timeless classic has a lot to offer. In typical art deco style there are stepped shoulders in white gold to compliment the geometric feel of the carre cut, each set with three rose cut diamonds. All mounted into an 18ct yellow gold shank. A truly wonderful ring, perfect as an engagement ring or for every day wear.

We offer a ring re-sizing service by our antique specialist for a small fee, starting at £40.

Most of our rings can be resized, but if they can’t we will stipulate this in the description.

As a rule we will only alter a ring by three UK sizes. If you would like to size a ring more than three UK sizes (either up or down) please contact us on a case by case basis and we will try and accommodate you as best as possible.

If you have any product altered or resized it can still be returned, however you will then be refunded the cost of the ring, minus alteration & postage costs.

      Sizing takes approximately 1-2 weeks.
