A truly breath-taking antique star pin in 18ct gold. This sizable star is thought to maybe have belonged to a larger suite of jewellery, potentially a tiara, due to the unique threaded pin to the reverse. The pin is set with approximately 1.85ct of fine quality antique diamonds, each hand cut stone slightly different from the last with chunky facets and open culets that sparkle beautifully when turned. The diamonds are bright and white with excellent clarity and offered in excellent condition overall with only a few small nicks visible with a loupe. 
 
The diamonds surround a central blue sapphire in a beautiful light cornflower colour. We suspect that this could possibly be a replacement stone but the natural gemstone perfectly complements the stunning rays of the star that surround it. There are a number of claws that have broken off around the sapphire, although the stone remains very much secure, this must be noted. We are happy to re-tip these if required but don’t believe it is essential.
