A truly exceptional art deco brooch. Crafted in a beautiful lozenge shape that we are obsessed with, with alternating bands of diamonds and cabochon rubies. The diamonds alternate between chunky old mined cuts and rose cut stones with a combined total weight estimated  at 1ct. The combination of the fiery antique diamonds and the glowing rubies is one we cannot get over and we just love this piece.
 
Overall this is offered in good condition for an antique item, with one very small area of lead work to the gallery of the brooch alongside some very small nicks to the stones. However we also must mention that the reverse of the brooch does show some damage to the rubies setting, we believe this was a choice made by a previous goldsmith perhaps attempting to replace a missing or damaged stone, but this does nothing to detract from the beauty of the piece. 
 
Although we love this as a brooch it would be possible to convert into another item of jewellery if required, please message us to discuss.
