A spectacular sapphire and diamond ring c.1910-1930. The centre of the ring boasts a large natural sapphire, estimated at 6ct in weight with a spread of almost 13mm on the hand. The antique cut stone has been expertly hand-faceted in a desirable cushion mixed cut with sharp facets and a beautiful elongated culet. The sapphire is a deep inky blue that almost appears black in some lights, but with flashes of teal as it catches the light. Internally the sapphire shows beautiful hexagonal growth patterns and colour zoning, which helps us to confirm it is indeed a natural gemstone. The sapphire is offered in excellent overall condition with only some small nicks and areas of wear visible with careful inspection. 
 
The sapphire is set in a beautiful art deco setting, with a trident of white gold at each end and diamond studded accents to the shoulders complete with milgrained detailing. A truly beautiful piece that would make a marvellous addition to any collection.
