A very special early 1900s sapphire and diamond plaque ring in an elongated oval shape. The ring is set with three old cut sapphires to the centre, two oval and one cushion cut in profile. The natural sapphires boast that near perfect royal blue hue to their antique facets glistening like deep sea waters as they are turned in the light. Dating to over 100 years old the sapphires are in good overall condition, although when viewed under magnification the table facets are nibbled and abraded and there are a few small nicks to note, which is not noticeable with the naked eye.
 
The three sapphires are encased in a halo of sparkling old mined cut diamonds. The chunky antique stones estimated at 0.65ct in weight are beautifully matched and, like the sapphires, in good overall condition despite some small nicks and chips visible with 10x loupe. 
 
The ring is large but sits low to the finger for ultimate comfort, finished with a simple yellow gold band. Currently a smaller ring size H ½ - I the ring can be sized but due to some thinning of the shank this couldn’t be a significant re-size. If a much larger ring size is required we can investigate re-shanking the ring at the buyers cost.
