  • A striking yellow sapphire and diamond halo ring from 1920s France. This large cluster ring features an approximate 1.30ct, honey yellow, oval sapphire to the centre with beautiful colouring that flashes from burnt orange to sunny yellow as it is turned in the light. Surrounding this unique stone is a chunky halo of antique rose cut diamonds. The diamonds are bright and sparkly with a greyish tone that appears to melt into the white gold of the halo. Overall the diamonds are in excellent condition, however there are a few small chips visible under magnification, which is to be expected with age.

The ring bares worn hallmarks to the exterior of the shank: a horse head for gold and an owl for second hand goods. These hallmarks indicate that the piece was likely imported into France before assay.

A truly beautiful piece of jewellery history, this would make a striking engagement ring or cocktail ring.
