A special antique navette ring in richly patinaed gold. The head of the ring is set with a juicy cabochon garnet in a stunning marquise shape, the closed back gold setting whining through the gemstone to give the look of a foiled sweet wrapper as it is turned in the light. The garnet is then set to the centre with a chunky old mined cut diamond of approximately 0.08ct; its high crown sparkling delectably as it dances in the light, highlighted by the simple gold bezel that surrounds it.
The ring is finished with a delicate split shank, which unusually remains as two separate bands throughout, giving you this subtle design feature to the shank that we don’t usually see. Unfortunately the hallmarks that once were have worn away but we can happily date this ring to c.1850.
