A beautiful and unusual, antique, ring set with a large oval, almandine, garnet in a unique 18ct yellow gold mount. The garnet is the perfect raspberry hue of reddish-purple we love with a shallow pavilion that allows the ring to sit flush to the finger. The stone is in good overall condition with only a few tiny nicks to the girdle, visible under magnification.
The setting for this ring is as unusual as it is beautiful; the low profile of the stone allows for a very cutdown setting that sits millimetres above your finger. The setting has an almost art deco feel to it with a boarder of gold hugging the garnet and four flat claws holding it in place, complete with a fine, stylised, rope boarder. A fabulous ring that you wont see again.
