  • This darling ring likely dates to the Georgian period, with quintessential floral chased halo and a central, foil -backed, amethyst. The amethyst is a beautiful light lilac colour, with just the hint of silver to it from the foiling underneath, which was common practice in the 1800s. The stone is surrounded by a halo of deep floral goldwork, which must have taken weeks to hand carve, and is in perfect condition.

The head of the ring appears to be gold cased, which is typical of the period, however the, later, shank is solid gold. This is most certainly a conversion piece, the head of the ring likely starting out life as either a button or brooch, however it is an old conversion, possibly done in the Victorian era.

We offer a ring re-sizing service by our antique specialist for a small fee, starting at £40.

Most of our rings can be resized, but if they can’t we will stipulate this in the description.

As a rule we will only alter a ring by three UK sizes. If you would like to size a ring more than three UK sizes (either up or down) please contact us on a case by case basis and we will try and accommodate you as best as possible.

If you have any product altered or resized it can still be returned, however you will then be refunded the cost of the ring, minus alteration & postage costs.

      Sizing takes approximately 1-2 weeks.
