A vibrant Georgian ring in 15ct gold. The head of the ring is set with a vibrant yellowy-orange paste stone in a beautiful elongated cushion cut. The paste is held in a hollow, domed collet, which gives the ring the traditional ‘button back’ profile we so love from Georgian pieces; and has been masterfully set with a foil backing, which enhances the colour of the stone even further. Sadly, there are two chips to the surface of the paste and some wear to the surface facets, but this does nothing to detract from her radiant beauty.
Surrounding the paste is a halo of creamy pearls. Each pearl individually set in a cut down collet so indicative of the era. Overall, the pearls are in excellent condition and are well matched in size and colour, although there is some evidence of glue work when inspected with a loupe.
Due to the shape and hollow nature of the collet we would prefer not to size this piece, but it will fit between an M-N (US 6-6.5) in size.
