A beautiful 1800s style ring modelled in 18ct gold. The centre is set with a vibrant foil backed garnet with a large, flat, table, and minimal faceting around the crown of the stone. The playful gemstone reflects deep reds and purples as it is turned in the light, the foil acting as a mirror beneath, enhancing and radiating the colours of the gemstone.
Surrounding the garnet is a halo of creamy white half pearls, traditionally used to symbolise purity and tears. The pearls are held in a traditional Georgian style collet, accented by the decorative shoulders of the stone that curve around your finger like your own secret garden.
The head of the ring is hollow, common in Georgian and Victorian jewels, but this is in overall good condition, despite a very small hole to one side near the shank. Other than this the ring is offered in excellent condition.
