A truly spectacular emerald and diamond boat ring from the late 1800s – early 1900s. This impressive ring is set with a large natural emerald to the centre. The glowing emerald measures approximately 0.85ct with a spread of 6mm that really makes it stand out. The emerald is later than the rest of the mount and might be a replacement but is a glorious replacement at that, making this already special ring a true masterpiece.
Flanking the centre stone are two large old mined cut diamonds, interspersed with smaller antique diamonds. The two larger stones total an estimated half a carat and are of truly exceptional quality. Although slightly lower in colour the stones face up beautifully white and both are SI+ in clarity; one with only the smallest pinprick inclusions and the other with a small feather reaching from the girdle. Both stones are packed full of fire and sparkle and offered in excellent condition.
The gemstones are set securely into a delicately scrolled gallery of gold that seems to grow around them like vines, perfectly protecting the stones, whilst adding a romanticism to an already timeless ring.
