An exceptional antique navette ring. This large ring has French provenance and bares the French hallmarks for 18ct gold and platinum to the outside of the shank. 
 
The head of the ring is an impressive 31mm in length and set with a deep teal sapphire to the centre of approximately 0.90ct, held secure by size yellow gold claws. The sizable natural stone sits higher than the rest of the ring which is totally adorned with rose cut diamonds. Held in platinum the antique diamonds blend into the white metal and create a sparkling backdrop for the beautiful sapphire. The stones are all offered in good antique condition overall, only a few diamonds having chips visible with magnification. There does appear to be three diamonds that are replacements but these are of the era and blend in well with the piece.
 
A truly stunning ring with exceptional presence, and one to be the highlight of any collection. 
 
Please note that it appears this ring has had a significant reduction in size at some point, and as such is slightly oval in shape, making sizing accurately tricky.
