A truly exceptional antique aquamarine and diamond ring in an elegant navette shape. This striking piece features a large baby blue aquamarine to the centre, which measures an impressive 14mm in length and is estimated at 1.10ct. The aquamarine is beautifully cut with crisp facets that refract the light within so it looks like you are staring at a mirror of the bright blue sky.
Surrounding the aquamarine is a halo of chunk, antique, rose cut diamonds. The diamonds are bright and lively with crisp facets and varying colours. As they have been set into closed back settings (which aren’t possible to clean unless the stones are unset) we believe part of their unique fancy bluish-grey colouration to be attributed to wear, however we love the mismatched grey tones of the stones and feel it makes the piece unique. The stones range from near colourless to fancy intense grey and are varied clarity grades, from SI1-I; they are in excellent antique condition with only a few small nibbles to report.
The stones have been expertly hand set into 15ct rose gold, with a low setting and diamond set shoulders. This is a ring that will become the pride of any collection.
