An enchanting large locket backed pendant. The head of the pendant has been modelled in silver and beautifully detailed with fine guilloche enamelling in a rare light lilac colour. The carefully applied enamel boasting the beautiful engine turned pattern through its pastel colour. As is common with pieces of this age there is some enamel loss to the piece, however this is minimal and reserved to the outer edges of the pendant.
To the centre the pendant has been set with a sparkling old mined cut diamond of approximately 0.12ct in weight. The diamond itself is in excellent condition and secure in its setting, however we have a suspicion is has been glued in place opposed to bezel set, possibly a replacement for another stone, such as a pearl.
The reverse of the pendant is in a contrasting 9ct rose gold with a large locket compartment adorned with finely woven blue material behind the original glass panel. This is in beautiful condition, which is not always the case, and ready to house your own keepsake. To the very top of the pendant you can see a hand etched number reading 1786-127, which is a tell tale sign this piece was once pawned, a sweet little insight into this antique pendant’s history.
