A fine Gentleman’s ring in 6.8g of solid 18ct gold, assayed for Chester 1915. The head of the ring is set with three large gemstones: a central aquamarine (believed to be a historical replacement) and two good sized diamonds.
The precious stones are all genuine antique stones, hand cut into a traditional old cut with high crowns and open culets. The two diamonds total an estimated 0.76ct – 0.80ct in weight and are lovely quality with no eye visible inclusions and a bright white colour to their antique facets. There are some small chips visible to the gemstones under magnification, but these do nothing to detract from this special piece. The only other wear to note is some wear to the shank where it appears the ring would have been worn next to another ring and has worn away the shank with time, although not noticeable.
This ring is currently a larger size U (US 10 ¼) but can be sized down to approximately a size Q (US 8). Please note that whilst we always endeavour, and mostly succeed, in keeping the hallmarks intact there is always a risk of partial loss during a large re-size.
