A truly jaw dropping antique ring from the early 1800s. This unique piece features a star shaped head adorned with diamonds. The centre diamond is a chunky old mined cut stone of approximately 0.27ct with a high crown and tonnes of fire. The antique diamond is slightly warmer in colour and graded a K/L but with an exceptionally high SI1 clarity grading, it looks clean and bright and is free from any damage. 
 
Surrounding the centre diamond are eight small rose cut stones, one in each ray of the star. These diamonds are overall well matched with chunky crowns and slightly higher colour. One diamond appears to be a replacement and is an eight-cut opposed to a rose cut stone, this stone looks slightly duller in colour but overall, just adds to the charm and mystery of the piece.
 
If this wasn’t enough the star is set onto one of the most fantastic shanks. The wide shank is beautifully detailed with deep chased design that seemingly grows up the shoulder to the head of the ring, finely accented with flowers and leaves.
 
Due to the construction of the piece we believe that the shank and head of the ring may have started life separately, but we love whoever decided to unite them as it is truly a match made in heaven.
