A vintage opal and diamond cluster ring modelled in 18ct gold and fully hallmarked for London 1969. This striking piece centres around a vibrant opal cabochon with stunning rainbow colour patches that dance across its surface. The opal is in excellent condition with no significant wear, there is a line present that runs through the stone but this is part of the natural matrix of the gem and not a crack or damage, just a piece of character we love. 
 
Surrounding the claw set opal is a chunky halo of white gold, illusion set with gorgeous natural diamonds totalling an estimated 0.80ct in weight. The diamonds are antique and a mixture of transitional and old cut stones, which we believe have been repurposed from an older piece. The reclaimed stones are in good overall condition with lots of fire and no eye visible inclusions, although graded SI2 – I with a loupe. They are well matched on the whole and blend in beautifully to the white metal that surrounds them.
 
The vintage ring is finished with a timeless fleur de lis style shank in rich 18ct yellow gold. Just the perfect heirloom piece.
