A striking Edwardian era diamond and emerald lozenge ring. This unique ring features nine sparkling old mined cut diamonds to the centre, surrounded by a halo of calibre cut natural emeralds, accented by further diamonds at each point of the ring.
The diamonds are overall in good condition and well matched, graded as approximate I-K colour and S2+ clarity, and full of that typical old cut diamond fire. The emeralds are equally well matched with the ideal deep bottle green colour and glow to their facets; unfortunately the emeralds are a little worn, which is common to the gemstone, with two emeralds being chipped and some surface nibbles to others, however this is only visible with magnification and does nothing to detract from this special piece.
The head of the ring is mounted onto a 15ct rose gold shank with a low profile that makes it a joy to wear. Upon close inspection the head of the ring is slightly tilted to one side, but this only adds to the character of this special antique piece.
