  • A beautiful antique target ring in solid gold, topped with silver. Formed in the style of a large rectangular plaque the ring is studded with glittering gemstones. The centre of the ring holds a good sized old mined cut diamond; estimated at 0.40ct in weight the diamond is bezel set in silver and surrounded by a cobblestone of rose cut diamonds. Overall, the diamonds are in good condition, however there are a few small chips and dark inclusions visible with a loop.

Surrounding the central diamonds is a fine boarder of synthetic rubies. It was traditional to use synthetic gemstones for this quintessential art deco design as they offered a consistency with colour that couldn’t be easily achieved with natural stones. The deep reddish-pink rubies have been expertly calibre cut to form a fine and continuous boarder around the ring. The rubies are in excellent overall condition with only some small nibbles and nicks visible with a loupe.

The ring curves comfortably around your finger and is finished with a timeless yellow gold shank.
