An original Georgian era brooch in 9ct gold cased metal. The small brooch has been intricately hand engraved with chased floral detailing throughout the boarder, its fine paisley patterns dancing around the cushiony silhouette of the brooch, which mimics the shape of the centre stone.  
 
To the centre of the brooch is a large old cut rock crystal stone, which has been set in a traditional foil backed setting and silver cut down collet. The gemstone has some surface wear and abrasions but is in remarkably good condition for its age.
