The head of the ring is set with a vibrant royal blue sapphire in a traditional oval cut. The sparkling gemstone has suffered some wear over the last 100 years and the table facets are abraded, but this does nothing to detract from its beautiful colour, which stands out perfectly against the buttery yellow gold. The only other wear to mention is the reverse of the shank, which is slightly out of shape and has thinned with wear to give it a knife edge profile. A beautiful ring for any collection.
