A truly spectacular original Art Nouveau locket in solid 18ct gold. This rare piece is large at just over 3cm in width and weighs a luxurious 11.5g of buttery antique gold.
 
The front of the locket bares the relief of a romantic scene: a young lady plucking a rose from a fine vine. The girl has a beautiful profile, turned to the fresh bloom int her hand, her hair perfectly tasselled up in a bun and tied with a cloth. The intricacy of the detail in the piece makes you feel as though you are looking at a fine painting or staring through a window into a fine garden.
 
Surrounding the centre story is a fine boarder of rose cut diamonds, set in a contrasting band of white gold, making them stand out further and really shine when turned in the light. Both the diamonds and the exterior of the locket are in excellent condition for their age, with only a small indent to the cheek of the lady and a very shallow ding to the reverse of the locket to note.
 
To the inside of the locket there is the original glass panel on each side. Both glass panels are in near pristine condition and currently house faded greenish-blue silk behind their windows. The locket opens and closes well with a secure click, but is not troublesome to open.
