A pretty antique navette ring in 18ct yellow gold. This lovley piece features a marquise cut paste stone with a stunning deep purple colouration set with three seed pearls. The pearls stand out beautifully against the regal purple stone with the central pearl being set in a gold star setting that beautifully ties in the head of the ring to the rich gold of the shank. Under magnification it is apparent the pearls have been glued into place, which is common practice, but this doesn’t detract from the piece or compromise the durability in the slightest.
Whilst the head of the ring has to be the focal point, the shank is also beautifully detailed with fleur-de-lis style shoulders that elegantly hold the head of the ring securely.
Overall, the ring is in good condition, however the central paste stone does have nibbles to the facet edges, which is visible with inspection with a loupe. It also appears that one of the very end claws is partially vacant, although this is not noticeable.
