A lovely late 1800s sapphire and diamond starburst band. The centre stone is a vibrant royal blue sapphire in a lovely antique cushion cut. Estimated at 0.30ct in weight the natural sapphire has some abrasions to the table facets, which is consistent with its being around 150 years old, these abrasions are mostly only visible with magnification however and don’t do anything to detract from the beauty of the stone.
 
The sparkling blue sapphire is accented by two chunky old mined cut diamonds set either side. The antique diamonds total an estimated 0.25ct in weight and are framed by beautiful star settings. One diamond has a small chip to the table which can be seen with a loupe, but otherwise the stones are in excellent condition.
 
The chunky band is modelled in solid 18ct gold and weighs a luxurious 5.1g, giving the piece a weighty feel on the hand. The only wear to note to the metal is a small patch of discolouration to the back of the shank, which is believed to be a result of a historic re-size.
