A truly unique and special diamond and emerald flower ring. The head of this beautiful piece is set a central light green emerald of approximately 0.85ct, however it looks much larger than its carat weight with a 7mm spread, a table size that would normally be expected on a 1.20ct stone. The emerald is bright and vibrant, with a glow from within that you would expect only from a high-quality stone, drawing your eye in to its natural foliage of inclusions. Emeralds are brittle stones and often highly included, which is part of their charm; as such it is common to see chips and cracks in antique stones, however this emerald is in near perfect condition with only a couple of tiny nibbles to the table visible under magnification. 
 
Surrounding the grassy green, emerald centre is a double halo of petals, each petal adorned with a single rose cut diamond. The diamonds are sparkly and well matched with a greyish tone to them. Overall, the diamonds are in beautiful condition, however under magnification you can see that there are some superficial nicks to a small proportion of stones, which is consistent with age. 
 
Modelled in 14ct gold, the shank of the ring is marked 585, however we believe this to be a later addition and the head of the ring is much older, possibly an antique brooch or stickpin conversion and dates to the early 1900s.
