  • An exquisite mid 1800s pink topaz pendant with locket back. This fine piece no doubt at one point belonged to a fine woman. The centre of the oval shaped pendant is a foil backed pink topaz, set in a classic Georgian style with a crimped bezel of gold holding it securely in place. The light pinky-purple stone has a beautiful metallic feel to it shining from the depths of the foil back and is in beautiful, antique, condition.

Surrounding the pear shaped centre is ornate, three dimensional, gold work that looks like delicate leaves protecting the gemstone. Finely engraved and hand applied the goldwork is the perfect addition to this beautiful piece.

To the reverse we see a glass back where the picture of a Victorian gentleman has been lovingly placed. Likely the lover or husband of the locket’s original owner, he is giving us Lord Bridgeton from eery angle.

Overall the piece is in beautiful condition with the only wear to note being scratches to the glass panelling at the back and some superficial tarnishing to the metal, most noticeable by the bale, however this is consistent with age.
