A unique locket pendant in 9ct gold, housing a rare antique coin. Although the locket itself is extraordinary, a finely crafted piece with an Etruscan feel to it, finished with two domes of rock crystal, it is the coin that really stands out.
The coin dates to 1806 and is a George III piece. From its size we can determine that is it 3rd of a Guinea, which typically were made of 22ct gold as standard. From some research within the trade we have discovered examples such as these fetching around £500 for the coin alone. Our example is truly special as it is housed in a bespoke locket to truly show off its beauty. Priced lower than the market average as we are unable to open the locket to fully inspect the piece for ourselves.
The only wear to note is some thinning to the bale of the locket, light surface scratches to the quartz, and what appears to be a mark to the coin.
A rare and unusual piece that is an excellent investment for any collector.
